Happy Samhain: Oh and the Belly Dancer :)

I spent an hour or so at the store today and met a lovely young lady ... who happened to be dressed as a Belly Dancer for Halloween. : )

It proved she was a fellow reader, and when I asked about the deck peaking from her bag, she allowed me to handle a wonderful Lo Scarebo -Rider Waite Tarot. A Lovely, working deck, that had seen hundreds of readings Im guessing, the edges where nearly black from use, and cards had the rough feel of a well worn deck. It virtually dripped energy. She may join us soon, I did invite her to the group. : ) So one thing we conversed about was comparing decks, I cant abide the slightest flaw in a deck, and will replace one that has a card that is in anyway imperfect. I normally gift the old deck to a less fussy reader, or Wonder Books. I dont believe I have ever just tossed a deck in the trash.

A little later I was talking about how I work numerology into a reading, and by way of example I drew 3 cards.

The 9 of Wands, Hierophant (5) and Princess of Cups. I explained to her how I would quickly sum the line in my head (26/8) and reduce it a given vibration and use that vibration as guiding theme in my interp,

So we see the 9 Standing alone, this person is at a moment in life where their Ally's cannot support him or her, but s/he must face the moment alone. The Hierophant tells us that their Karma might be in play, but I also saw it as saying their faith must be their rock in this moment. Princess of cups, A very lonely card in this deck to me, again underlying the very personal aspect of this read, the Q faces her present alone, but she adds an emotional component. The underlying theme of Strength of course speaking to her need to embrace her personal power in an uncertain moment, where she might feel, needy or weak. Looking at the Cards now, one male one Female, divided by the Hierophant, you can see a couple with some Dharma coming between them.

As the young lady I was showing this example to seemed very intersted, I wondered then, and do now, if the cards spoke to her as more than just an example of a technique she might consider, but perhaps spoke to her moment.

Its not really my place to ask, Innana, as the young lady did not ask for a reading, but I know Innana will very often sieze the oppertunity to pass on a little guidance, if I just crack the door for her.

Your thoughts,
Ama tu ANKI, BB.

As usual i didnt read your interpret BB, so it doesnt affect my interpret =)

9 of Wands = Now here is the guy in question. The only connection with this card and the rest of the spread comes from the panther in the Princess of Cups. He has his back turned and is unaware of what is behind him. It almost seems as if he is the gate keeper... (9 wands representing the gate), he stands guard as to protect her spirituality and her emotions. I dont think of him as a spirit gate keeper, but more of a barrier that she has put up.

Heirophant = well it seems that this really speaks to tradition, i see multiple visions in cards and not always comparative to the usual meanings... but i find that this card has been coming up in readings quite frequently.. and its been stayin pretty true to tradition... and more often than not .. family tradition. Here I feel this is speaking to a mystical/spiritual tradition though... not the normal "religious tradition" (from my experiences i have separated the terms religious and spiritual). I feel this card is showing a connection to the divine self (indicated by the top glowing thingy (i think its a cross). This picture actually looks like the self, connecting with the divine self, with an auric field around her. I know you mentioned she reads tarot and I feel this clearly is represented here. I also see a lot of twlight blues, indigo and purples.. very significant of the crown and pineal chakra.

Princess of Cups = This gives me a sense of calming and containment of emotions. She seems very much inline with her emotions.. i also feel like the panther is looking over to the guy in the 9 of wands. It almost seems like a curiousity of sorts. The panther will not leave her side and feel that this represents very much a spirit guide of sorts. In fact i would say the energy of this card is focusing more on the panther than the woman... i think, showing a strong connection with a spirit guide.

numerology
Strength = This feels like strength of shield. I feel like the image in the middle of the picture is a lotus flower, funny enough feeling like its impentatrable.

Blessings,
Gwyll
